Market Day

We rose early today and collected our glamorous friend Sylvia for breakfast at the Cafe Inn in town. What a fabulous treat that was. Easily the best breakfast ever. Sibel the very nice lady there served a beautifully presented feast of fresh breads and toast, preserves, borek, boiled eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, a variety of cheeses, fresh strawberries, pastries and as much tea as we could drink. All for 15 lira. She has recently reopened the Cafe Inn and the furnishings are tasteful, stylish and comfortable with lovely views over the bay. We will be back often.
Then we sauntered round to the harbour where there is a new shop - in fact there are quite a few new and interesting shops in Datca this year and the place seems to be a little more up market than it used to be. The new shop is called Oda Sanat (the art room) and is filled with lovely artistic, handmade things. Those of you who are coming to my birthday party soon will be pleased to hear I bought a few items here for pizes for the party games!!
Later we went to the market which was busy- just bought a few strawberries for breakfast tomorrow.

    1. It was superb Jay and we did linger with our friend. We haven't seen her for about seven months so there was plenty of gossiping to be done. I think Hil and I will be going back to check up on the quality in this particular cafe in a day or so.
