Winter Sun and Wind

Usually around January we start yearning for the sun and for a couple of years we have found it in the Canary Islands. So this year it was decided by Matt that it should be El Medano again in Tenerife. However this trip was to be a little different, instead of sailing alone he decided he needed some tuition (after over 30 years) and he booked himself onto a course with a guru. It kept him busy while I looked after the sun beds and pottered around.
There were about ten of them on this course mostly men and one woman with a few wives tagging along. We were housed in 3 spacious apartments with lovely sea views. It was handy as Matt could roll out of bed, down the slope and onto his windsurfer. It was nice being part of a crowd with some relaxing evenings out. We didn't go anywhere else, no sightseeing or exploring the volcano as we did all that on our last visit. This was purely a windsurfing trip with me tagging along. The weather was great with sun and 24C every day. Matt had wind  everyday but one so he was happy. So the blokes and one lady were off everyday learning to do such things as  warrior tacks and flat water wave riding. I took a few photos with my new camera and long lens but they are mostly of the sea and windsurfers.

The food was interesting and delicious. The fish was especially good.

My favourite night out in an Italian restaurant. We had Carpaccio and it was delicious. I had no idea it was raw beef until I found out later!
